Lower-Normandy (Basse-Normandie)
North West of France on the coast of the English Channel.
This is a mainly agricultural area including dairy, in particular soft cheeses and butter, some fishing and of course apples, with their use in Calvados and cider. Tourism is also a major industry here and there are two major ferry links to England; Caen and Cherbourg.
